2nd annual De Luz Triathlon- July 21st. at 7:30 am

2nd annual DLT, The next De Luz Triathlon will be on July 21st with a starting time of 7:30 am. The starting time is to accommodate Victor MacKenzie's beauty sleep.

For this race I have a couple of ideas. I was thinking we should have two divisions: one division would be an open division with the winning time being the winning time. For the second division (or corrected time) so that old fat guys can see how they do with a little bit of a handicap. I think Sue has our times from the first race so we can use those times to handicap off of. Let me know what you guys think of this idea. John Max you would have like a 45 minute corrected time.

The second thing I wanted to to discuss was what the course is going to be for like this race. There have been some suggestions from the other world class athletes to lengthen the swimming portion from 100 yds to something a little longer. How do guys you feel about swimming around the dock and two boat buoys on the west side of the lake and back to the boats? That should be plenty for us. I know it is for me. For the bike ride, this time, it will be a mtn bike ride up Harris Truck Trail. I don't know the course yet but I was hoping we could all do a ride on Saturday or Sunday Vic knows the route and is willing to do a ride to show it to us. Vic are you up for a ride this Saturday or SUnday? Btw, I just got my mtn bike tuned up so I'm ready. John Rarity your still going t have to ride the aircraft carrier bike :)

Lastly, the after party will be held at Vicky's Lemonade stand just like last time. It's on the corner of De Luz and Daily.

I wanted to send you all a quick reminder about our  2nd of 4 triathlons this summer at Ross Lake. The date is next Saturday the 21st, starting time is 7:30. More information about the course to follow. The entire race will be around the lake so you don't have to worry about the crazy drivers on De Luz Rd

The after race party will be at Vickie's lemonade stand like last time.
